Valverde gave his thoughts on Real Madrid’s victory in Leganés. The Uruguayan, who captained the side for the first time and scored a great free-kick, told Realmadrid TV: “I’ll remember the win, the three points and the fact that we’re getting closer and closer to the top of the table. I’m happy to fulfil a dream. My family and I always had this dream of being captain of this great club. I’m really pleased, proud and happy to represent Madrid like this”.

“It’s always easier when the team and the coaching staff are behind you. I tried to do my best as I do in every training session and in every game. I try to look at what Carvajal and Lucas Vázquez are doing in that position to learn from them. The important thing is to keep contributing to the team”.
