On the occasion of the 50th issue of the show A Sunday in the Country still hosted by Frédéric Lopez, Kendji Girac agreed to talk about the terrible tragedy that occurred in April 2024. The singer decided to speak on Sunday November 24 on this episode which could have cost him his life… The host also spoke behind the scenes of this special show on the C à Vous set on France 5. “My colleagues talk to the guests on the phone. Between 1 hour and 3 hours sometimes, to ask them questions about what they haven't said yet in the press. And the first question we ask them is : 'Is there anything you don't want to talk about?' We respect that, and the rest, we deepen it”he recently explained. Then to detail: “He didn’t talk about that subject. Which means that when we meet, I say 'we can't talk about this news item'. But it wouldn't have shocked me if he didn't talk about it because it's very personal, and it turns out that he chose to talk about it. And we'll see what he said. But it really touched me.”.
During this tragedy, Kendji Girac was able to count on the unwavering support of Soraya Miranda, his partner for many years and mother of his daughter. Very discreet about her relationship, she nevertheless confided in our colleagues at Le Parisien about the genesis of their story. “It was in 2014, in a restaurant in Switzerland. It's love at first sight. I was touched by his look. I immediately felt it very sunny, kind, gentle. These were my first impressions which turned out to be true“, she declared to Parisian. When she meets the man who has shared her life for a decade, the young man is not as well known as he is today. She also said: “I experienced our beginning of our relationship quite simply, I was still a student on the other side, in Switzerland. He was on the roads. We met whenever we could and we had great and great times. He came to Geneva, and sometimes I was the one who joined him when I could. Since then, we have never left each other.”
Soraya Miranda sets the record straight
On the discretion of their couple, Soraya Miranda clarified that it was an agreement made with her partner. “We both always agreed, we always wanted to compartmentalize our job and our relationship to protect our relationship, to stay calm. With our daughter, it was even more obvious to stay in this state of mind with a family life”she detailed. The one who is not used to wanting to express herself in the press did so one last time recently.
It's still at Parisian that she wanted to reestablish a certain truth. After reading numerous times that Kendji allegedly blackmailed her, she declared: “Kendji never blackmailed me into suicide […] It never existed. I never suffered the slightest violence whatsoever from him. I am categorical. He is incapable of doing so.”. She finally concluded: “How could anyone say that I had left France with our daughter? I was in the hospital with him, and I stayed by his side the whole time. Since his release from the hospital, we are together with our daughter, obviously“.
