The situation is serious, we are up against the wall. Marineland is about to transfer Wikie and Keijo, its last two orcas, to Kobe Suma Sea World in Japan where Stella and Ran are being held in deplorable conditions.

In Japan, cetaceans are considered fisheries resources, giving them much lower protections than those in place for mammals.

In , to carry out a transfer, it is necessary to obtain a CITES permit. However, if a permit application is submitted, only a ministerial decision would be able to halt the process and block the orcas.

And their departure would be imminent. Marineland could transfer Wikie and Keijo before December 5, when a court decision is expected regarding the fate of the orcas.

Mr. Prime Minister, Madam Minister, prevent this transfer! Don't send these orcas to this death pit and don't grant an export permit to this destination! This is completely against the spirit of the 2021 law. Give these orcas born at Marineland and who have always lived there a chance to experience a better fate!
