The Lorient players started the match in the best possible way, storming the Bastia camp. The match took another turn at the half-hour mark, when Bastiais Janneh was logically sent off after a too strong tackle (32'). In the stands, tempers were heating up, and the referee of the match, Mr. Delajod, picked up a lighter on the pitch. After other projectiles were thrown, the latter finally decided to interrupt the meeting.
After twenty minutes of interruption, the 22 players in the match returned to the green rectangle to finish a tense first half.

Despite numerical superiority and clear domination, the FCL struggled to get ahead of its Corsican opponent. The Lorient coaching duo, Pantaloni the former Ajaccian, and Cahuzac the former Bastiais, knows perfectly well the atmosphere of the Armand Cesari stadium, but we have to believe that the Merlus were stunned by the Bastia context of this Saturday evening.

3 A Missed Golden Opportunity
After the draw of Paris FC (1st) in Annecy on Friday (0-0), Lorient (2nd) had a perfect opportunity to take control of Ligue 2 by overtaking the Parisian leader of the championship. The draw conceded in Corsica blocks the Morbihannais in second place, before playing the 8th round of the Coupe de France next weekend, against US Monnaie.
