He was the semi-finalist of season 4 of the Star Academy alongside Grégory Lemarchal. Now press officer, Mathieu Johann was at the initiative of an album entitled Let's stay friends bringing together the alumni of its TF1 TV show season in 2020. A burst of songs in tribute to the artist who died of cystic fibrosis the profits of which were donated to the singer's eponymous association. This year, the show presented by Nikos Aliagas mobilized by offering the new class to record an unreleased single whose author is the one who was nicknamed “The Little Prince”. This title will be performed live during the special alumni bonus broadcast this Saturday, November 23. “I think he wrote before but didn’t take responsibility for writing”, remembered his former comrade near Tele-Leisure.

Asked by Tele-LeisureMathieu Johann also returned to the way in which he discovered Grégory Lemarchal's illness. “We only talked about it once, in his room where I was able to stay with him for twenty minutes. I discovered Grégory's universe which was not at all the same as ours”, he says. Louis and Marin's dad explains about the constraints of the winner of the Star Academy at the castle: “He didn’t sleep in the dormitories with us. His was medicated, and disinfected and cleaned every day. He was also very sad not to sleep in the same room as us.”

Although he did not sleep with his classmates, Mathieu Johann nevertheless specifies that his daily life was the same as that of the other students. “He did the same things as us, he was always punctual and in addition to what we had to do, he had his medical care with physiotherapists who came to the castle twice a day.”he explains. The semi-finalist of season 4 specifies that the Star Academy production did not take Grégory Lemarchal's illness lightly. “The production has always been very attentive. We heard him from time to time telling him to be careful but he was the first one to do stupid things, practice and sing all the time.” he remembers.
