Goals: J. Ayew (90e+6) for the Foxes // Jackson (15e) and Fernández (75e) for the Blues
Still no jersey sponsor, but a new team.
Chelsea alone took – provisionally – third place in the Premier League, thanks toan easy success on the Leicester pitch (1-2). With entry fangs and high pressure, Enzo Maresca's men attacked in waves towards the goal. Foxeslogically striking by Nicolas Jackson, author of a nice sharp right, following multiple failed clearances from Wout Faes (0-1, 15e).
Foxes at the bottom of the burrow
Only put in danger at the end of the first periodnotably on a low cross shot from Kasey McAteer, the Blues logically hit the nail on the head in the second half, with a header from Enzo Fernández, receiving a ball from Jackson, initially repelled by Mads Hermansen (0-2, 75e). Far ahead in terms of corners, threatening actions and possession, Chelsea seemed very giant compared to the very discreet foxes. Jordan Ayew still reduced the gap in stoppage time, from the penalty spot, after a sole from Romeo Lavia on Bobby De Cordova-Reid (1-2, 90e+6).
Gianfranco Zola, Gianluca Vialli and now Enzo Maresca?
