A reader reporter who was on the train in question describes details of an uncomfortable journey to “20 Minutes”. Hundreds of commuters were in the Interregio from Zurich to Lucerne on Thursday morning. But a quarter of an hour before arriving at the Lucerne terminus, the train suddenly broke down in Rotkreuz. Apparently because of a door malfunction we couldn’t continue.
That’s why the passengers had to change. Only: The Intercity, which was supposed to replace the Interregio, was clearly too small for the many passengers who wanted to go to Lucerne. According to the reader’s reporter, those affected literally had to squeeze onto the train to Lucerne, sometimes running to the next door because it was no longer possible to get on at the first one.
In addition, the overcrowded train was delayed due to the antics during the change.
