In several regions, returning to work was complicated on the roads due to accumulated snow.
Thursday, November 21 in the evening, on many roads in France, it was paralysis with uninterrupted lines of vehicles. The snow arrived with its share of unforeseen events and accidents. “As it starts to freeze on the ground, the temperatures are really dropping and tonight it’s going to really slide.”explains the team leader at the Île-de-France roads department.
Tow trucks are busy this early evening on a national road in France. Motorists are resigned but they are also and above all cautious. Snow began to fall in abundance mid-morning in the Paris basin, reaching 7 to 10 cm in places. Motorists moved slowly on slippery roads. The snow doesn't hold everywhere on the ground, but riding a motorcycle today really wasn't the best idea.
At a university campus south of Paris, classes were suspended at midday, freeing students to find transportation home.
