In its latest report, Météo France now places 56 departments on orange alert, including 31 departments for snow and ice, mainly in the northern part of the country and in the Alps and 25 departments for winds. Earlier this morning, the meteorological agency had placed 58 departments on orange alert, including 58 for snow and ice.
