Installed on the starting platform, Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal was pushed by the advertising panels, forcing the ski jumper to hurtle down tens of meters of the track and perform his jump. Frustrated by the situation, the Norwegian groaned, unaware that he had signed the third best performance of the day.
A very nice scare. While Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal was waiting for the green light to set off from the Olympic hill in Lillehammer (Norway), on the sidelines of qualifying for this weekend's main rounds, the ski jumper was surprised. Installed on the railing, the young Norwegian, who was at home, checked that his skis were properly fitted, but a few seconds later, he was pushed by an advertising panel… forced to have to slide down the 140 meter slope.
A jump of 132m, the 3rd best
On the slope, going back is no longer possible, so Sundal placed himself in the tracks and got directly into position, to continue gaining speed. the performance is formidable, with a jump of 132 meters. But the 23-year-old athlete did not immediately realize that he had just posted the third best performance of the day, thus qualifying for the two main rounds of the weekend.
At the end of the day, Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal was initially very frustrated, after this event which could have taken a completely different turn. Annoyed, the Norwegian threw down his gloves, while certainly explaining to his trainer that he had just been scared of his life.
