This is a rare precautionary measure. The prefect of Puy-de-Dôme has decided to close schools due to the wind warning. From the beginning of the afternoon until the beginning of the night, gusts could reach 100 to 110 km/h in the plains, up to 120 km/h in the mountains. Classes will therefore be suspended from midday and Schools will be closed from 3 p.m. this Thursday afternoon. Parents must therefore organize themselves to pick up their children before then.

This concerns all educational establishments, nurseries, nursery and primary schools, as well as middle and high schools (including BTS). Academic services will ensure the care of students until their recovery by parents. The prefect asked employers to release parents as quickly as possible so that they can go to schools. A measure taken to reduce travel in the afternoon, when winds are expected to be strongest.
A Clermont-Ferrand, outdoor sports facilities, cemeteries, parks and gardens have been closed since 11 a.m. this Thursday.
The SNCF, also for its part, took precautions. Eight round trips are canceled this Thursday afternoon, to or from Vertaizon or Volvic.
