Félix Lebrun eliminated from the start during the WTT Finals, the final competition of the season

The Frenchman lost in the round of 16 on Wednesday against German Benedikt Duda, 18th in the world.

Félix Lebrun ends his year with a brutal defeat. The Frenchman, world No. 4, was eliminated from the start, Wednesday November 20, during the WTT Finals in Fukuoka (Japan), a competition which brings together the best table tennis players in the world during the final meeting of the season. The Olympic bronze medalist in was beaten 3 sets to 2 by the German Benedikt Duda (18th).

For his last outing of the year on the international circuit, the new star of French sport concluded his season with a close loss (9-11, 11-6, 14-12, 6-11, 11-9) against the one who had already stopped him in the quarter-finals of the European Championships in Linz, in October.

His brother Alexis, ranked 14th in the world, is also involved in Japan. He will play his first round on Thursday against a much tougher opponent, the Chinese Lin Shidong, world number 2.

The two brothers still have one last chance in doubles. Before Alexis' first match, the French pair, ranked 2nd in the world, will face the Japanese Tomokazu Harimoto and Sora Matsushima in the quarter-finals at 6:10 a.m. French time.
