Representative of Agache, the holding company of the Arnault family which will take control of FC at the end of the month, Antoine Arnault spoke at length to Le Figaro as well as at a press conference this Wednesday. The opportunity for the future owner of the Parisian club to discuss the question of the stadium, as well as the rivalry with PSG.

Current leader of Ligue 2, Paris FC will soon change dimension by being officially bought by Agache, the holding company of the powerful French Arnault family, which will hold 52% of the club by the end of the month before having 80% of Paris FC by 2027. Son of Bernard Arnault, Antoine Arnault will be the main representative of his family within the Parisian club.

This Wednesday morning, a few hours before his press conference at in front of the entire press, Antoine Arnault spoke at length via video with Le Figaro and was inevitably questioned about the upcoming rivalry with PSG, a club that he supports.

“I've been a PSG supporter since I was 12, so you'll never hear me say a negative word about Paris SGhe replies. It would be very presumptuous of us to imagine being able to compete with PSG. Nasser (Al-Khelaïfi) has built something extraordinary, the previous shareholders had put in place an ultra-solid foundation. Today, PSG is one of the top three clubs in the world in terms of valuation. Our objective is first of all to have a good season in Ligue 2 and to move up to Ligue 1.”

Charléty and Jean-Bouin, the two options of Paris FC

Eager to make training a pillar of the Paris FC project, which he repeated several times during his interview, Antoine Arnault was also questioned on the thorny question of the Paris FC stadium, which is currently playing in a Charléty not very suitable for football.

“There are two options: an improved Charléty stadium and this option is not excluded, we must look at this with the public authorities to see the arrangements that could be made (…) The second option is Jean-Bouin, who is a great stadium. It is the right size compared to our current project (20,000 places). It's not that simple. We also need to come to an agreement with Stade Français from a financial point of view. In any case, both options are on the table. »

Unlike Pierre Ferracci, who will remain president of Paris FC until 2027, Antoine Arnault did not want to make cohabitation with PSG at the Parc des Princes a realistic option for his club: “No, the Parc is the PSG stadium”replied the future leader of the Parisian club on this theme.

Paris FC does not necessarily want to own its stadium

During the press conference held at Orly this Wednesday afternoon, Antoine Arnault and Pierre Ferracci were also asked about the stadium issue and reiterated that Charléty and Jean-Bouin were the two main options for Paris FC .

For the first city, being the owner of the stadium is not an ambition: “The idea is not to make a fortune with such a project, but just to aim for balance,” he assured. This is not our priority. If there is an opportunity, we would study it. But the idea is not this. We just want to provide pleasure to the supporters with a great football team that gives everything on the pitch. We need a good stadium. Whether you own it or not, it is not the priority objective. »

Last week, Pierre Ferracci declared on the microphone of L'Equipe du Soir that his absolute dream was to play in a “Charléty transformed”. But the president of the PFC had not completely ruled out sharing the Parc des Princes with PSG in the future: “In times of shortage, when we do not multiply public facilities, this is a hypothesis that should not be completely rejected”he confided.
