Tuesday evening’s winner
Daphne Agten was able to live up to her role as favorite again and won on Tuesday evening with 436 seconds.
The loser
It was expected that she would go further, but Bo Van Spilbeeck has to say goodbye to the program after two episodes. It was a neck-and-neck race. As usual, anything could happen during the last lap.
Agten was able to build up a nice lead before she had even seen her video. And that lead turned out to be necessary, because Agten only managed to give two answers to the question she was presented with. With three answers left and 120 seconds to divide, Van Spilbeeck could still win. But the journalist in turn only managed to give one additional answer, leaving her stranded at 366 seconds. She had to play the final together with Thibaud Dooms.
And whether it was exciting. The two were very evenly matched. But Halloween killed Van Spilbeeck. She still had to find two correct answers to drive Dooms home. But that didn’t work. Dooms knew that the holiday falls on October 31 and – without expecting it himself – he still played the journalist home.
Newcomer on Wednesday
On Wednesday, Daphne Agten and Thibaud Dooms will be challenged by Barbara Sarafian.
The best quotes
Erik Van Looy: “Bo, it’s the second time for you. I think you are one of the first retirees to participate. I can say that, I am the same age.”
Above Van Spilbeeck: “Be careful, this year there are many people in the media world who are retiring. Jan Dewijngaert in our sports department, Rudi Vranckx at the end of this year, Jan Balliauw.”
Wim Helsen: “Everyone is retiring. There is only one person who will continue to do so.”

Van Looy: “Thibaud, have you ever met someone in a strange place?”
Thibaud Dooms: “I want to come up with such a good story now, but I don’t really get to know anyone.”
Van Looy: “Just think about it and I’ll get back to you right away.”
The health: “You just have to start saying something. A bowling alley… and then you just have to follow.”
Van Looy: “Thibaud, have you ever met someone in a strange place?”
Dooms: “I’ve thought about it. No.”

Van Looy: “Do you think there is hate watchers watch ‘The smartest person’?”
Manu Van Acker: “Certainly. There are always such people. Someone responded on Facebook: ‘That Manu always looks so unkempt.’ Then I think: ‘You haven’t seen Bockie De Repper sitting here yet.’”
The health: “I once read: ‘Wim Helsen is a talentless bastard without talent.’ Not correct. A scrotum is full of talent, right?” (Read more below the photo)

Van Looy: “Do you have a favorite planet?”
The health: “Yes, the Earth. Because that’s where I keep all my stuff.”

Van Looy: “Have you ever been a referee?”
VanAcker: “I used to be a line judge in tennis. I can demonstrate that if you want.”
Van Looy: “And.”
VanAcker: “How old are you, Erik?”
Van Looy: “Uh… 62.”
VanAcker: “Out!”
***
Van Looy: “You will come back tomorrow.”
Aight: “Please.”
Van Looy: “Then you play against Bo or Thibaud, who do you think will make it to the final?”
Aight: “I find that really difficult, because I have known Thibaud for a while and he stole my heart a long time ago. Bo has now also stolen my heart in a very short time. It’s like I have to choose between my two children, so I’m not going to do that.”
The health: “Do you have children?”
Aight: “Nee.”
The health: “Because it is not that difficult to choose between your children.” (Read more below the photo)
Most beautiful moment
Manu Van Acker brought good news to the 22nd episode of ‘The smartest person in the world’. “I’ve said it before in this program. I really wanted to get my driver’s license. Today was the big day: I took my theoretical driving test and I passed,” he said, after which he proudly showed the proof and the audience cheered him on. Helsen wanted to take a closer look at the piece of paper and tore it up without any form of pity. “You’ll have to do that again,” he laughs. Although it could be worse, Agten admitted that she had to retake her theoretical driving test no fewer than seven times before she passed.
