Pierre Palmade caused a road accident in February 2023 while he was under the influence of drugs. The comedian is on trial for “unintentional injuries” before the criminal court of Melun, in Seine-et-Marne, this Wednesday, November 20, 2024. He faces 14 years in prison.
After “three days of partying”on February 10, 2023, Pierre Palmade causes a serious road accident in Seine-et-Marne.
That day, the comedian drove under the influence of drugs, 3M™ to be precise, and crashed into another car.
Three members of the same family were seriously injured by the actor, including a 6-year-old child and a seven-month pregnant woman who lost her baby in the shock. Weighing 1.09 kg, the fetus was “indisputably viable” before the tragedy, according to a medical expertise carried out by the courts.
Choc frontal
The frontal impact is strictly a human fault according to the conclusions of the accidentology expert report submitted on June 28, 2023 to the investigating judge.
“The fundamental cause of the accident thus appears exclusively linked to a driving error characterized by a complete deviation into the lane in the opposite direction and a lack of resumption of trajectory in correction”specifies the expert.
The sudden change in trajectory was made by the actor himself and is neither the result of the speed of the car (“87 km/h instead of 80 km/h”), nor the mechanics of the Peugeot 3008, “the vehicle” being “in perfect condition” et “recently serviced and passed technical inspection”.
According to this same report, the actor first turned right in the middle of a straight line on the RD372. He then tried to get back to the center of the lane, but by turning too far to the left, he found himself going against the flow and hit the car opposite.
“Total amnesia”
Pierre Palmade claims to have no memory of the accident. Between the moment he passed through the gate of his house and the moment he woke up in intensive care at the hospital, it was a black hole.
Heard at the end of September 2023, Pierre Palmade explained to the judge: “Unfortunately, I am still the victim of my total amnesia (…) It’s monstrous. I ruined the life of a family. I go to sleep and I wake up with it, sincerely”he declared.

After 35 years of friendly relationship, she decided to cut ties. In an interview given to RTL on September 1, 2024, Muriel Robin affirms that she decided to end her friendly relationship with Pierre Palmade, following his road accident which occurred on February 10, 2023.
“Regarding Pierre Palmade, all I have to say is that: one, I know and two, I have seen and heard things that are not in his favor. That's why I don't never expressed myself and that I will not express myself But I could say that I am no longer her friend (…) It’s a realization.”.
The two comedians collaborated for more than thirty years, and wrote numerous sketches and shows together.
What does he risk?
This Wednesday, November 20, 2024, Pierre Palmade is on trial before the criminal court of Melun, in Seine-et-Marne, for “unintentional injuries”. The qualification of homicide required by the prosecution was not accepted.
According to case law from the Court of Cassation, a child who has not been born does not exist as a person and cannot be a victim of homicide, Franceinfo points out. In a press release, Maître Battikh, lawyer for the civil parties, regrets this decision, in particular “with regard to decency and humanity”.
The comedian finds himself in a recidivism situation due to a conviction in 2019 for drug use. “Due to this state of legal recidivism, Pierre Palmade faces a sentence of 14 years of imprisonment and a fine of 200,000 euros”according to statements by the Melun prosecutor.
