The Christmas bonus, or its official name “exceptional end-of-year assistance”, will be paid December 13, 2024. It was the Minister of Solidarity, Autonomy and Equality between women and men, Paul Christophe, who made the announcement in an interview with West France published on Tuesday, November 19. Who gets the Christmas bonus?
In 2023, the Christmas bonus was paid to 2.2 million households. This year, it concerns people who received certain social minimums in November or December 2024:
- active solidarity income (RSA)
- the specific solidarity allowance (ASS)
- the retirement equivalent allowance (AER)
- the fixed bonus for returning to work or remuneration for Pôle emploi training (RFPE)
How much is it?
The amount of the Christmas bonus is set at 152.45 euros for a single person. For France Travail recipients, a supplement may be granted depending on the number of dependent children.

For RSA beneficiaries, the amount also varies depending on family situation and the number of dependent children. Thus, a single-parent family with a dependent child will receive, for example, 308.72 euros.

How to apply for the Christmas bonus?
If you are eligible for the Christmas bonus, payment is automatic after verification of the access conditions carried out by the Family Allowance Fund (CAF) or by France Travail. This year, “the transfer will be made on Friday December 13, beneficiaries will see it appear in their bank account between December 14 and 16”indicated Minister Paul Christophe in West France.
