Monaco striker Georges Ilenikhena was attacked this weekend while he was in the Paris region.
Regularly targeted and victims of burglariesprofessional footballers sometimes suffer these attacks in person. This was the case this weekend of AS Monaco player Georges Ilenikhena, who was robbed while he was in Essonne, in the Paris region.
At the end of a birthday party in the town of Corbeil-Essonnes, the footballer accompanied by a friend was stopped at the wheel of his car by four hooded individuals, some of whom had handguns.
The stolen car immediately crashed
Under duress, Georges Ilenikhena had to give his attackers his shoes, his phone and the keys to his vehicle – a Volkswagen Golf with which the attackers tried to escape. “Except that when they were fleeing, the four perpetrators crashed the stolen car… It was therefore on foot that the quartet ended up leaving the scene, leaving the vehicle and its owner behind,” specifies the Parisian, describing a barely believable scene.
Shaken nonetheless, the Monegasque attacker filed a complaint this Sunday morning for violent theft. Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Georges Ilenikhena took his first steps as a footballer in Antony, in Hauts-de-Seine, before completing his training in Amiens where he also began his professional career.
