“It was a festive, magnificent year, which brought a little freshness to the institution!” enthuses Julien Annoni, vice-director of the Bernese Jura Music School (EMJB), at the time to take a look at the festivities which marked the 50the school anniversary throughout the year.
An intense year. The school, first of all, sought to make itself better known. “We work in such a decentralized way that it is a daily challenge to establish a real school and team spirit. It is not easy to make the institution feel, both vis-à-vis the outside than within our walls”, explains Julien Annoni.
A rich program
This year of the 50e will have enabled the school to invest at different levels. Internally, teachers were invited to make their students experience this musical year differently. Some visited an ornithological station and were inspired by this theme, others were interested in the technique of the show, still others visited an instrument factory or gave concerts in the forest. “It created life inside the school,” greets the vice-director.
There was also the trailer of the 50ewho stopped in several villages in the Bernese Jura to present, via an exhibition, a film and stories, the school’s offering. “We went to meet the public, where they wouldn’t come looking for us. We showed that we could decentralize well beyond the classroom,” says Julien Annoni.
