“Starmania” celebrates its 45th anniversary, bringing together a host of stars! The cult rock opera by Michel Berger and Luc Plamondon will be in the spotlight in an event concert from the Agora du Vieux-Port in Quebec, broadcast this evening from 9:05 p.m. on France 2. On the program: the greatest hits of ” Starmania” performed live by emblematic artists of the French-speaking scene such as Patrick Bruel, Garou, Jenifer, Isabelle Boulay, Hélène Ségara and many others. An evening marked by nostalgia and emotion, since it will also contain tributes to Michel Berger and Maurane, with the participation of Fabienne Thibeault, one of the first performers of “Starmania”. From “SOS to an Earthman in Distress” to “When we arrive in town” via “The Businessman's Blues”, viewers will be able to relive the highlights of this timeless show. Guest of the evening, Santa will have the difficult task of revisiting one of the strongest songs from the rock opera “Starmania”, “Le monde est stone”. Originally performed by Fabienne Thibeault, who played the role of Marie-Jeanne, the automaton waitress, in 1979, this legendary ballad will take on a new form thanks to the powerful voice of Santa. “ Stone, the world is stone / I'm looking for the sun / In the middle of the night / I don't know if it's the earth / Which is turning upside down / Or if it's me / Who's making me cinema / Who makes me my cinema » chants the singer, at nightfall, in front of the skyscrapers of Montreal, first seated behind her piano in the middle of thick smoke. Inhabited by the text and melody of this cult song, Santa then cannot resist the urge to jump on his piano for a powerful and tragic finale.

One of the most notable performances of this anniversary evening of “Starmania”, whose new troupe is currently on tour throughout France. For her part, Santa – nominated for the Purecharts Awards – has had great success with “Recommence-moi”, chosen as the anthem of the “Star Academy”, and continues her major tour which will pass at the Salle Pleyel in Paris on December 13, before thrilling the public in Nantes, Amiens, Caen, Orléans, Lille or Toulouse.
