Interpol took care to establish this tradition which consists of the presentation of the flag of the Organization to the country organizing its General Assembly, as a prelude to the preparations to host this annual meeting, the largest gathering of law enforcement services across the world.

On this occasion, Mr. Hammouchi delivered a speech in which he addressed the heads and members of the participating delegations, reiterating his thanks and esteem to all member countries who unanimously decided to grant the Morocco, more precisely Marrakech, has the honor of organizing the 93rd General Assembly of the Organization in 2025.

He also expressed the pride of the Moroccan security services in seeing the Kingdom establish itself as a safe destination for all countries, organizations and police institutes in order to examine ways to build a safer world and to put global and cross-border security strategies in place.

The Director General of the DGSN-DGST insisted on the determination of the Moroccan security services to bring together the necessary conditions for the smooth running of the next general assembly of Interpol, so that its meetings are fruitful and crowned with success, through promising conclusions and recommendations and innovative approaches capable of promoting the emergence of a common global front in the face of multiple security challenges.

At the end of the intervention of the Director General of the DGSN-DGST, a video was projected highlighting the assets of Morocco and the historical monuments of the city of Marrakech as well as the Moroccan security model, the objective being to promote the potential of the country hosting the work of the next General Assembly of Interpol.

Earlier on Thursday, November 7, Morocco was elected, by a large majority, vice-president of Interpol for Africa, during the elections of the executive committee of this organization, in recognition of its efforts to the preservation of security and stability at the regional and international levels and its pioneering role in the service of South-South security cooperation.
