Despite a first unsuccessful attempt last summer, Paris Saint-Germain remains in ambush for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
During the last transfer market, the Parisian club offered 100 million euros for the Georgian winger, but Naples refused, wishing to keep one of its most promising talents. Since then, the extension negotiations between the young Georgian nugget and Naples have stagnated, opening a new window of opportunity for the Ile-de-France club according to information from Gazzetta dello Sport.
Barça in ambush
The main point of friction between the Italian team and the 23-year-old striker concerns the release clause. Naples offers a clause of 100 million euros, while Kvaratskhelia's entourage hopes for a more accessible amount, around 80 million, to facilitate a possible departure in the future. The salary question adds additional complexity: currently paid 1.5 million euros per year, the left winger aspires to a significant increase, aiming for a salary of 8 million euros with bonus. For his part, Aurelio De Laurentiis, president of Naples, offered 5 million euros annually, a sum considered insufficient by the player and his entourage.
In addition to Paris Saint-Germain, FC Barcelona is also monitoring the situation without having made a concrete offer. Competition between these two European clubs could, however, put pressure on Naples if extension negotiations continue to stagnate. For PSG, the arrival of Kvaratskhelia would be a major asset in Luis Enrique's project, who seeks to strengthen the creativity and depth of his squad. If the situation remains unchanged, a transfer could be considered as early as this winter or, more likely at the end of the season, offering the Georgian center forward a new opportunity to shine in a major European championship.
