Like many times this year, it rains again in Paris. On this Tuesday in November, bad weather created a stir in the capital, placed on yellow alert for “strong winds” and “rain flooding”.
According to Météo France, the winds will strengthen between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., with gusts of up to 85 km/h in showers. As a result of these forecasts, Paris town hall has decided to close green spaces and cemeteries from 1 p.m. this Tuesday. All are expected to reopen Wednesday morning.
“The weather will be overcast and rainy, with temporarily heavy showers in the second part of the afternoon as the cold front passes, potentially reaching between 7 and 10 mm in an hour,” indicates the City website. As for the wind gusts recorded between 60 to 70 km/h this morning, they should increase to 70-80 km/h from midday, with very brief peaks of 80 to 90 km/h possible as the cold front in the second part of the afternoon.
In response to these forecasts, the Paris town hall invites people to avoid leaving their homes if possible, to remain very careful when traveling, not to walk under trees, and to avoid walks in the woods of Boulogne (16th century) and Vincennes (12th century). In case of intense rain, it is also strongly recommended not to go down into basements.
As the Weather Channel announced on Monday, a powerful disturbance that arrived Monday evening from the north is currently sweeping the entire country. It will continue its route south throughout the day, sparing no place, according to the forecast.
