Nikola Tesla Airport has become the first airport in the world to offer free, fully solar charging of electric vehicles, the operator of Belgrade Airport announced.
As stated in the announcement, thanks to the partnership with the BEAM Global company, five off-grid ARC solar stations with 10 chargers for electric vehicles have been installed at Premium Parking P1 of Belgrade Airport, which will enable travelers and visitors to charge their vehicles. using renewable energy sources.
“This cooperation represents a new step in the improvement of green infrastructure in Serbia, as well as a significant contribution to environmental responsibility and innovation in the Airport's operations. As part of the VINCI Airports company, Belgrade Airport is committed to reducing its carbon footprint and developing sustainable solutions, including using energy from the Airport's solar plant, arranging green areas, recycling waste and maintaining biodiversity,” Airport operator Nikola Tesla said.
Each solar station can simultaneously charge two vehicles, which is especially important for locations with a large number of visitors, such as the Belgrade airport.
