Since the congressional hearing of former intelligence officer and whistleblower David Grush in July 2023, UFOs have gained a place in the public debate in the United States. Rebelote this Wednesday, November 13 with a new hearing of witnesses in the House of Representatives peppered with astonishing but poorly substantiated remarks. Coincidence (or not) of the calendar, the theme of the end of secrecy will be addressed on Saturday during a series of conferences in Troyes, in Aube.
US government employees injured by UFOs? This is one of the stunning assertions heard during a new hearing on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena at the House of Representatives on November 13. The author of this “revelation”, always weakened by a cruel absence of material evidence, is a character who has become central in the American ufological landscape: Luis Elizondo, former intelligence officer, now director of special programs within To the Stars, organization which campaigns for the full disclosure of the UFO file. To The Stars is notably at the origin of the publication of several PAN videos, produced by American naval pilots.
No stranger to spectacular statements, Luis Elizondo this time testified under oath, a detail which is not anecdotal in the United States where perjury is a crime which can be punished by 5 years of imprisonment. This sword of Damocles did not prevent him from repeating his remarks in this striking exchange with Nancy Mace, the Republican president of the hearing:
“Did the government run secret post-crash UAP recovery programs? Yes or no? » she asked before continuing after Luis Elizondo's positive response.
“In your book, you mentioned government employees who were injured by UAPs and who were placed on leave and received compensation from the government for their injuries. Is this correct? “. Again, the former officer confirmed.

Trump and UFOs
Then, the audience was able to hear from Michael Shellenberger, journalist and founder of the Public information site. The latter caused a sensation recently by evoking a secret government program, curiously called “Immaculate Constellation” which would have accumulated “thousands of evidence of UFOs”.
“What the American people need to know is that the United States, the military and the intelligence community hold an enormous amount of visual and other information: photos, videos, photographs, other information from military sensors, and have been for a very long time,” he said, adding: “And these are not these blurry photos and videos that we were given. These are very clear, high-resolution files.” But, again, nothing very concrete since Michael Shellenberger refused to name his informants. Which is both logical and frustrating…
As with every American election, the moment is ripe to reintroduce the issue of UFOs into the public debate. Even more so with Donald Trump who, always quick to sense the spirit of the times, declared in a podcast recorded two months before his victory that he “would love” to make public more information on UFOs.
Towards “the end of secrecy”?
This is the theme of the conference which will be held in Troyes on Saturday November 16. As in the 1950s, the UFO question remains torn between proponents of a down-to-earth explanation (still unknown natural phenomenon, secret military prototypes or vast disinformation operation) and supporters of an extraterrestrial hypothesis or even stranger one. (time or extra-dimensional travelers). To this situation, we must add the massive diffusion of conspiracy theories which still obscure a not very clear landscape.
The task of the speakers at the Trojan conference organized by the young Youtube channel The UAP Show therefore promises to be delicate and exciting at the same time. But not enough to impress these seasoned figures of ufology nor the specialists from different fields who will provide transversal insight.
National security, aquatic UFOs, Belgian Wave…
Veteran Patrouille de France pilot Jack Krine, whose life was turned upside down by the sighting of a UFO, will return to this experience.
Marie-Thérèse De Brosses, senior reporter at Paris Match in another life, will deal with the particularly controversial and divisive subject of abductions.
The former boss of the DGSE, Alain Juillet, will question the links between UFOs and national security,
Naval historian Alexandre Sheldon-Duplaix will address the little-known theme of unidentified aquatic objects.
Ufologist and writer Thibaut Canuti will take stock of the incredible Belgian Wave, from 1989 to 1991.
As for the ufologist, Egon Kragel, he will look at the philosophical dimension of this phenomenon.
Surprise guest
Finally, the organizers, including documentary director Paul Plumat and Emmanuel Leriche, president of the communications agency Comellink, announce the presence of a surprise guest.
Also on the program, the screening of the trailer for the film “Valensole”, a feature-length fiction film adapted from one of the most famous cases in French ufology. For those hungry for mystery, a “ufological meal” will extend the day of conferences.
