Judicial police officers are conducting a search at the Town Hall this Thursday, November 14 in .

A search is underway this Thursday, November 14 at Montpellier town hall. Several judicial police officers came to collect documents concerning human resources. At the heart of their investigations, suspicions of anomalies concerning agents without assignment.

“They are at home but still paid”

A recent report from the Regional Chamber of Auditors highlighted extraordinary absenteeism at Montpellier town hall. “Out of 3,700 agents, 297 have no assignment. They are at home… still being paid. And this has been going on for a long time. With administrative situations so varied that the municipality has difficulty identifying them”revealed Valérie Renet, president of the regional chamber of accounts of in June 2023. A situation which continues despite the election, in 2020, of Michaël Delafosse as mayor of Montpellier. This same report also pointed out a “higher payroll than in other municipalities of comparable size”.

“The services concerned provide the necessary documents to judicial police officers, such as job descriptions for example”indicates the town hall’s communications department.

Mayor Michaël Delafosse has not changed his agenda. He was in Sète this morning to participate in the M28 board of directors.
