Gendarmes from the Borgo motorized brigade (Haute-Corse) intercepted a motorist traveling at 180 km/h on national road 193, a zone limited to 110 km/h.
The speed used for the offense, committed this Sunday, November 10, was set at 170 km/h, “either a significant excess endangering their safety and that of other road users”, indicates the Corsican gendarmerie on its Facebook account.
The driver under the influence of alcohol
The offense does not stop there: the driver also had an alcohol level of 0.41 mg/l of exhaled air, exceeding the authorized limit. Faced with these cumulative offenses, the police immediately suspended his driving license for a period of six months and removed six points from his license. The vehicle was also impounded.
“This driver will soon have to answer for his actions before the courts, which could increase the penalties. The authorities recall the importance of caution on the road and the responsibility of everyone in order to prevent accidents,” add the gendarmes.
