As indicated for several days, a clear change in weather is expected in France. And this will also involve a windy risk. Discover the details in these new lines.
A vast depression will influence the weather in France during next week. Moreover, we will monitor the winds blowing sometimes strongly. Overview of the latest weather forecasts in this new article.
Monday: gale
Pour predict the speed of wind gustswe will in particular look isobars. These are the often white lines shown on atmospheric maps.
The closer they are to each other, the stronger the winds can be. due to a strong variation in pressure over a smaller space. This is what will happen at the start of next week.
A depression will circulate towards England. Although its position could still change in the forecasts (impacting the strength of the winds), we can expect moderate to strong gusts over a large northern half of the country at the latest by early night from Monday to Tuesday.
To date, the first gusts are in the order of 60 to 70km/h inland, up to 80-90km/h along the coasts. These forecasts are valid for the evening and early night from Monday to Tuesday.
Tuesday: strong gale to storm?
For Tuesday, the weather conditions are likely to be even more turbulent. And for good reason, the depression will move closer to France, probably impacting a large northern and northeastern half.
In fact, gusts between 70 and 80-90km/h could be observed, particularly between Île-de-France and the Grand-Est. Towards Hauts-de-France and along the Channel coast, the weather forecasts are based on the European ECMWF model, gusts close to 110 to 120km/h. The 130km/h mark could be reached towards the Opal Coast.
We would have to wait until the second part of the day on Tuesday or even Wednesday to find much less strong winds but with a drop in temperatures. Sleet or even snow could then be observed at very low altitude.
However, although this risk of gusty winds is present, there are still uncertainties regarding their intensity. This will depend on the precise position that the depression takes. These next few days will allow us to refine the weather forecast!
Other depressions
Thereafter, the weather conditions will remain depressed. We will have to monitor the possible presence of a secondary depression between now and Thursday.
This could then bring a lot of precipitation but also wind, particularly in the southern and eastern half of France.
A week ahead which promises to be rich in terms of weather. Be careful and stay connected to follow the evolution of the weather forecast.
