Influential boss of domestic intelligence between 2008 and 2012, then successful consultant in the private sector, did the former figurehead of the Sarkozy networks in the police act outside the law? He will appear from this Wednesday, November 13 at the judicial court with a series of former police officers or magistrates.

He is still nicknamed a killer in police and intelligence circles, the “Sharks”. And he claims it: his WhatsApp profile still displays a photo of a shark swimming in blue water. The investigating judges referred Bernard Squarcini to the judicial court on September 1, 2023 for 11 charges, including “embezzlement of public funds by an individual” et “false in public writing”as well as “concealment of fraudulent collection of personal data” or “complicity in illegal practice” private research agent or regulated professions relating to private security activities.
