The cold is likely to be felt more, from this Tuesday, November 12, across the country with a drop in temperatures.
Temperatures oscillating between 3 and 7 degrees
According to information from our colleagues at RTL, “Météo France forecasts temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees, in the north-east quarter as far as Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, 11 to 15 degrees in the north-west quarter , and 12 to 17 degrees in the South-West. This return of cold can be explained by “a drop of cold coming from Germany”.
This is why a few showers are expected in three quarters of the country with thunderstorms in the South-East. Temperatures will oscillate “between 3 and 7 degrees over most of the country, with the exception of Brittany and the Mediterranean rim”.
What is a “cold drop”? According to information from Météo France, it is a pocket of very cold air located at an altitude of more than 5,000 meters. Its positioning can fluctuate, depending on the surrounding warmer air masses.” In addition, it happens that this pocket of air “breaks away from the circulation associated with the polar jet current to descend to our latitudes”.
Furthermore, the first snowflakes have already been observed in the Hautes-Alpes, on the night of Monday 11 to Tuesday 12 November.
