Frédéric Lopez offers in his show A Sunday in the countryside a caring space where personalities can indulge. This November 10, it was the turn of the artist Emmanuel Moire to confide, alongside Sandrine Bonnaire and Christophe Michalak, on France 2. Moved, the 45-year-old singer spoke of a tragic episode in his life: the loss of his twin brother. It was then in full preparation for his second album, Balancereleased in 2009, that Emmanuel Moire learned the terrible news: his twin brother was the victim of a car accident. After being knocked down, he was left in a coma for two weeks, an unbearable wait for his family. When doctors gradually brought him out of the coma, they realized the extent of the damage. “At the level of the brain, there was no longer anyone“, declared Emmanuel Moire, his eyes clouded with tears.
Two options were imposed on the singer's family. “It was a real choice to make, either we keep him alive at the risk of recovering someone who is no longer the one we knew, or we let him go“, he said. Despite the pain of the ordeal, Emmanuel Moire and his parents chose the second option. The doctors then suggested that they use some of his organs to save other lives , an idea that the artist welcomed. It was with tears in his eyes that Emmanuel Moire remembered this moment: “That's cool, if it helps someone who needs it.“
