“The guy was obviously in the meadow”
The shooting victim? Altesse de la Serre, a nationally renowned mare currently on 'vacation' in Nièvre after the birth of her foal. And the breeder was categorical: “With the slope and the relief, she could not have taken a ball from outside the meadow. The guy must have been in there.”
Still “angry”, Diane de Charmasse has since filed a complaint with the gendarmerie. The hunters also left him their contact details and insurance certificates. Not enough to appease the breeder. According to her, the hunters then told her “that I should not make a fuss, that I should not dramatize, that they had insurance”.
