New drama in the world of Cycling… The Belgian junior team Air College – Bconcept has just announced the death of its runner Honey Dekiena Belgian hopeful who had just turned 18 this year. He was involved as a passenger in a tragic road accident in Beerst near Diksmuide and died of his injuries. Versatile runner, Honey Dekien rode on road, cyclo-cross and mountain bike. This season, he competed on the road among juniors, notably finishing 13th in Gand-Wevelgem.

It was his team who announced the sad news on social networks: “It is with great sadness and deep incomprehension that we announce the death of our runner Honey Dekien (2006-2024), following a tragic road accident. Honey will always remain in our hearts, we will never forget you and we thank you for all the beautiful moments shared. You were and will remain a fantastic young man for us. Our most sincere condolences to parents, family, friends and all those who cared Honey to heart. Words fail us… Wherever you are now, be well”.
