As Donald Trump is set to become the 47th President of the U.S., the spotlight returns to the Trump family. Following confirmation of Trump’s victory in the 2024 electionhis wife, Melania, marked the occasion with a post on X, proudly sharing a moment of their son Barron casting his vote for the first time. Barron, the youngest of Donald Trump’s children, was born to Donald and Melania on March 20, 2006. Notably, Barron’s name was personally chosen by Trump. On The Oprah Winfrey Show, Trump shared that he had “always loved the name” but hesitated to use it. When he suggested it to Melania, he considered withdrawing the idea at the last minute, but Melania insisted, saying, “You can’t take it away! I’ve been calling him Barron since he’s been in my stomach, and you just can’t take it away!”
Barron began his education at Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School in New York and then transferred to St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland. When Trump first assumed the presidency in January 2017, Melania and Barron stayed in Manhattan so Barron could complete his school year. However, according to reports, Barron was hesitant to leave New York and the life he had there to join his family in the White House. In 2021, near the end of his father’s term, Barron enrolled at Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach, Florida, where he graduated with the class of 2024.

While Donald Trump’s other children took on public roles during his presidency, Barron mostly stayed out of the media spotlight. However, in July 2024, he made a rare appearance alongside his father at an election rally. ABC News reports that Barron, now a first-year student at NYU’s Stern School of Business, has played a role in introducing his 78-year-old father to podcasts. This shift from traditional campaign methods and TV appearances to a podcast-focused strategy has helped Trump connect more effectively with younger audiences.
