Friday 2024 Prize: two winners for the 8th edition!

The Friday Prize, the first major national prize for adolescent literature, was awarded on November 5, 2024 The Hunt by Maureen Desmailles (published in the collection The Ardor published by Thierry Magnier).

Presented for the second time this year, the Friday Prize – Youth Pass Culture Jury awarded Blue charcoal by Anne Loyer (published by Éditions D’eux).

The first major national prize for adolescent literature in the French language, the Friday Prize was created in 2017 by the publishers of the Youth group of the National Publishing Union in order to promote the dynamism and creative quality of contemporary youth literature. Each year, a selection of 10 French-speaking works intended for those over 13, published between October 1 of the previous year and September 30 of the current edition, is submitted to a jury of professionals.

The jury for the Friday 2024 Prize is made up of:

A collaboration between the Friday Prize and the Culture Pass was initiated in 2023, giving rise to the creation of the Friday Prize – Youth Jury Culture Pass. This Prize is awarded by a jury made up of seven young readers from different regions and Culture Pass beneficiaries.

The La Poste Corporate Foundation, a historic partner of the Prize, is providing this year’s Friday Prize with a total budget of €3,000 (€2,000 given to the winner of the Friday Prize, €1,000 to the winner of the Youth Jury Culture pass).

The Friday Prize is also supported by Sofia and the CFC, in partnership with the magazines Livres Hebdo and Je Bouquine.
