Camille Cazaubon loudly claims her Landes roots. In 2019, she created the company Camadoue, dedicated to the manufacturing and marketing of duck down scarves and neck warmers. “The world of textiles has always attracted me. My grandmother, Nadia, ran a clothing store of the same name,” confides the woman who is also the head of the company Plum'Export, specializing in duck feathers from the South-West.
Five years ago, the idea was born. After the well-known down jackets, sleeping bags, duvets, pillows and down slippers, why not create scarves, scarves and even neck warmers? It’s decided, Camille becomes a designer!
After first prototypes tested within the family circle, Camadoue was born, a name made up of the diminutive of his first name and the Gascon translation of Adour. The structure is intended to be on a human scale with the objective of promoting handmade work, carried out by local companies, explains the person concerned. “Ducks from the South-West, sewing in Nassiet in the Landes! Apart from the viscose fabric made in India with, however, a French design. All services, including packaging, are carried out here… I wanted all these creations to be certified made in France,” she explains.
Perfect for Christmas
It is in this spirit that Camille Cazaubon will participate in the made in France show, which will be held in Paris, Porte de Versailles, from November 8 to 11. During this event, which allows for greater visibility, she intends to praise the natural qualities of down: “It's more breathable, you don't sweat and you don't have the feeling of being suffocated. It can be worn all day. It is a thermoregulatory material. In terms of comfort and lightness, once you've tasted it, it's hard to do without it.
When the first frosts arrive, just a stone's throw from Christmas, a scarf, a handkerchief or a neck warmer is an interesting gift idea.
Orders are made directly on the camadoue.fr website or by email to [email protected]. For Christmas, it is imperative to order a week before.
