In a small town in North Carolina (United States), a forest is home to a shooting gallery. But this one brings together Democrats who are proud to carry a weapon. “We really want to protect the right to carry a weapon and limit the negative effects of these weapons”explains David Yamane, university professor and Democratic voter. After decades of fighting against the spread of weapons, more and more Democrats are now arming themselves.
The association “Liberals with Arms” brings together thousands of members. Kamala Harris, Democratic candidate, herself admitted that she owns a gun. A way for her to silence the Republicans who claimed that voting Kamala Harris would sign the end of the Second Amendment.
The subject of weapons has not been at the heart of the presidential campaign, because it is no longer as divisive as before. In her platform, Kamala Harris does not propose any gun ban.
