The events took place in , not far from Place de la République, as the site reveals to us Actu.fr. Mathéo was heading towards his car when the individuals savagely attacked him to steal his phone and bank card.

It was the victim herself who called the police to report her attack. A police patrol went to the scene to observe the attack and Mathéo’s injuries. The man's right eye was swollen and his face was heavily scarred by the blows. The Dijon police commander has since confirmed the thefts.

The attackers still on the run

The investigation is ongoing, but the victim was unable to give a precise description of the escapees. Mathéo felt like he was being followed by a group, they would have initially started a conversation, but very quickly the tone rose. In particular, they told him: “We are going to take your phone and your wallet.”

The Dijon police denounce a “gratuitous attack”. Mathéo was beaten on the ground, then the attackers quickly fled with the phone and bank card. The police hope to find the perpetrators quickly.
