In an interview with L'Équipe, the former president of the French Football Federation (FFF) Noël Le Graët openly attacked Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, “too comfortable” in her role as former Minister of Sports.
Noël Le Graët emerges from the silence… and the sulphator. After the dismissal of the complaint for moral and sexual harassment to which he was the subject, the former president of the French Football Federation spoke to L'Équipe, where he notably returned to his relationships more than icy with Amélie Oudéa-Castéra since the 2022 World Cup.
“It all started from Qatar where things weren't great with Madam Minister, I don't know if she deserves me to call her that. With Florence Hardouin, they met, I wasn't always very friendly with Oudéa-Castéra, who did not behave like a minister, she was too comfortable, I told her bluntly,” he admitted.
Florent Gautreau: The departure of Le Graët was a huge occasion. Today, French football is poorly represented in the League…and in the Fédé!” – 10/07
“She made me feel a little sorry”
For the 82-year-old former leader, the administration of Amélie Oudéa-Castéra “conducted an incriminating investigation” into him, “with the hearing of around forty people”. “Afterwards we learned from Le Monde that the minister saw Florence Hardouin the day before her hearing and mine. Finally, fortunately there was article 40, because with the minister's administrative investigation, I would never have been cleared. All this was very painful. She played on it and abused it at a time when speaking could be complicated for men. What did she do for Sport? her time at National Education, she made me a little sorry.”
Former Minister of Sports Amélie Oudéa-Castéra will also be judged on December 3 and 4 before the Court of Justice of the Republic (CJR) for defamation against the former boss of French football. Noël Le Graët filed a complaint in April 2023 for comments made on February 15 and March 5 of the same year by the former Minister of Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
