Lando Norris takes pole position in the slippery Brazil qualifying. The drivers are struggling with the conditions.

In a difficult qualifying that was delayed several times, Lando Norris took the lead in the starting field for the race on Sunday afternoon. For the Brit in the McLaren it is the 8th pole of his career.
His compatriot George Russell (Mercedes) will start alongside Norris. The two Racing Bulls drivers Yuki Tsunoda (starting position 3) and Liam Lawson (5) also placed surprisingly well.
Hamilton and Verstappen tied back
The adverse conditions also claimed prominent victims. For example, Lewis Hamilton got stuck in Q1 in the Mercedes. In Q2, world champion Max Verstappen (Red Bull) was hit, who was only allowed to start the race from 17th place due to a penalty.

In addition, Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz, who had triumphed in Mexico a week ago, slipped off the track. The same fate befell Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) and the two Williams drivers Alexander Albon and Franco Colapinto.
Of the two Sauber drivers, Valtteri Bottas, one made it into Q2. The Finn narrowly missed the cut for the final phase and will start the race in the afternoon from 11th place on the grid. Teammate Guanyu Zhou has to make do with 20th and last place on the grid.
Qualifying could not take place on Saturday due to heavy rain and was postponed to Sunday – just a few hours before the race.
