At the end of the meeting and at the microphone of Forever, the coach of the Girondins de Bordeaux, Bruno Irlesfirst spoke about the quality of the Blois pitch, on which his team drew (1-1) this Saturday evening.
“We saw conditions worthy of amateur football (smile). We know it, we know this kind of thing, it can happen. The problem is that unfortunately, we are not prepared for this. We are not prepared for that, nor are the players, but the conditions are the same for the opponent. The opponent has the chance, in quotes, to also train on this type of terrain.”
However, the Bordeaux coach is not satisfied with several players.
“But no, I'm not happy because my players haven't necessarily all been 100% of what they can do. We know that this championship is a long fight, and it will be every weekend. This evening, I am still hungry for two or three players. We can't only have 7 or 8 very good players on a field. Once again, we talk about the desire, about what we are capable of doing… We can miss things and quite honestly, you can put anyone on this field, they will miss things. But in terms of desire and what they are capable of doing, I have two or three players that I will shake up during the week. If we want to get to the top of the table, it’s not eight players who have to be good, but eleven.”
