After leading the way throughout the first period, LOSC faltered after returning from the locker room and must logically settle for just one point this Friday against Olympique Lyonnais (1-1). Here are the grades we give to the Mastiffs at the final whistle of this game.
Lucas Chevalier (7): The Lille goalkeeper experienced two very distinct halves with a very calm first and a much more agitated second. But he was able to respond with several decisive saves even if he could do nothing about the very good Lyon goal.
Thomas Meunier (5,5) : Unfortunately injured at the end of the match, the Belgian full-back delivered a very good first half in his use of the ball and defensive behavior. But his second period was very difficult against the whirling Fofana and he suffered greatly from the incessant accelerations of his compatriot.
Bafodé Diakité (6.5): In the Lille central hinge, the young Frenchman managed to contain Lacazette well with many well-intentioned interventions and won defensive duels. He was also very important in the recovery.
Aïssa Mandi (6.5): For his fifth start of the season in Ligue 1, the Algerian international delivered a great performance and was very important at the end of the match when the crosses accumulated in the Lille area.
Gabriel Gudmundsson (7) : The Swedish left-back had a high-flying first half, making several shifts, accelerations and very dangerous crosses in the Lyon defense. He didn't stop in the second half, even if he logically took a step back physically.
Benjamin André (6.5): The captain is back in shape and this is felt in the Lille team, much more lively and solid in the midfield. He managed to manage Lyon's superiority in the middle well even if he was easily eliminated by Maitland-Niles on the equalizing goal.
Ngal'ayel Mukau (6): Once again a starter in the midfield, the future Congolese international was hard at work, whether in recovery, but also in using the ball to get out of Lyon's pressing. A little more difficult afterwards even if he managed to scratch a few balloons.
Edon Zhegrova (4): The Kosovar winger was not having a good night and this was quickly felt with bad choices, stubbornness and permanent nervousness. He failed to make any difference in his lane against Tagliafico and Niakhaté.
Angel Gomes (5) : The playmaker delivered a paradoxical performance. If he missed a very, very big opportunity at 0-0, he was also important in his use of the ball and in his positioning between the lines to thwart Lyon's pressure.
Osame Sahraoui (6): The Moroccan international was unstoppable in the first half, sometimes too individual, but he made many differences in his lane and inside the game. Much less visible during the second act.
Jonathan David (6) : The fox of the surfaces struck again with a new goal full of opportunism and accuracy in the finish. He stopped a lot to come and participate in Lille's ball releases before, like his offensive teammates, disappearing in the second half even if he managed to scratch a few mistakes.
