We now know the names of the fifteen candidates who will join the Star Academythis Saturday, October 12. Among them, Charles, 18, is from Brittany and more precisely from Pléneuf-Val-André (Côtes-d’Armor). This horse riding enthusiast is truly self-taught, he has never taken singing lessons. He arrived as far as Star Academy on “a whim”as he confided to our colleagues from France Bleu. “I have always followed the Star Academy and one day I started, I applied on the Internet. I sent it a bit like a bottle into the sea and I was contacted again. I did one, two, three castings and I find myself here today”rejoices the young man. He chose to apply to interpret what he sings regularly “of the French variety, of Patrick Fiori, of Florent Pagny”.
Charles (Star Academy) sang before he knew how to speak
Charles’ vocation was rather precocious. “I have been singing since I was very little. (…) I sang before I spoke”, he assured. And his passion is shared by those close to him who are also no strangers to his vocation. “My whole family sings, my father, my mother. Whenever we have the opportunity, we all sing together. It was really my father who launched me into singing. It was with him that I really delved into that”, he said. He has even already done a few scenes in the villages near his home. Besides singing, Charles has another passion: horse riding. He rides horses whenever he can. He also studied in this field – he has just obtained his baccalaureate at the Kernilien agricultural high school in Plouisy – and he has his own mare.
Charles (Star Academy) already dreading dance classes
Charles accepts it, he has never taken singing lessons and that is therefore what he also comes to look for at the Star Academy. “That’s why this adventure will bring me a lot. Professional advice, that’s what I’m looking for too. I really haven’t taken any lessons. I sing naturally like that. There are bound to be plenty of errors.” he explained. Although he is already looking forward to taking part in singing lessons, he is, however, apprehensive about dancing lessons. “I’m not a very good dancer. They teach me a choreography, I’ll be able to do it again. Afterwards, improvising a choreography is a little more complicated”, he admitted. Charles would like to do duets with “great voices”such as Florent Pagny, Patrick Fiori, or Slimane on upcoming bonuses.
