The newspaper The Team has already had the idea of bringing out a series of testimonies in which people from the Roland‐Garros organization provide some tasty anecdotes about the Spanish legend.
Linda, who transcribes the press conferences of tennis players, explained in particular why the man at the 14 Roland‐Garros was unique on the circuit.
“When he arrives at a conference, he always says hello and winks at me. During the first tournament interview, he always comes to ask me how I’m doing. The other players say hello and goodbye, but he makes it personal. He always answers questions very seriously and then, suddenly, he says a funny sentence. Someone asked him the question ‘Who is Roland Garros?’, he replied: ‘I have never met him.’ And his smile is very communicative. »
