In the rain, hundreds of people flock to the funeral ceremony of Michel Blanc, iconic French actor, this Thursday, October 10, 2024. Open to the public, according to the wishes of the actor’s partner, the religious ceremony takes place at the Saint-Eustache church, in Paris, where the actor used to go.

Of the 750 seats in the church, 250 are reserved for guests. Several personalities from the world of culture are expected, including his colleagues from Splendid. The actress Carole Bouquet and the actor Martin Lamotte were notably seen, as were the directors Jean-Pierre Améris and Patrice Leconte. The latter shot several films with Michel Blanc including The Bronzed et Mr Hire.

The first lady of France Brigitte Macron and the Minister of Culture Rachida Dati are also present. For those who were unable to take their place inside the religious building, a broadcast of the funeral is offered on the square.
Religious texts will be pronounced by those close to him
Shortly before the start of the ceremony, presided over by Father Yves Trocheris, the coffin arrived in front of the Saint-Eustache church. He was applauded by the crowd gathered for his funeral. Inside the building, his relatives prepare to recite religious texts.
The 72-year-old actor and director died of cardiac arrest following anaphylactic shock, Paris Match revealed. Michel Blanc died in hospital on the night of Thursday October 3 to Friday October 4.
