Didier Deschamps offered yet another communication number on Wednesday, on the eve of Israel – France, in order to express himself on the growing disenchantment between Kylian Mbappé and the French public. This was notably manifested by whistles last week in Lille, in the Champions League, when he came into play at the start of the second half. Which makes the national coach say, die-hard in the defense of his exceptionally uncalled-up captain: “He doesn’t play in Lille and it’s Real opposite. They are not going to applaud the opponent.” A hell of a dose of bad faith, obviously, since Kylian Mbappé was literally adored in all the stadiums in France with PSG upon his return from the 2022 World Cup…

There is no doubt that “DD” is tired of these incessant controversies about Kylian Mbappé, even if he has seen others and he proves it again with this media sleight of hand. But as he keeps saying, it will never stop. Only a return to performances worthy of the name for Real’s new striker will bring back some semblance of calm.
