The Bigster, Dacia’s offensive in the C-SUV segment

In January 2021, the presentation of Renaulution strategic plan announced the ambition of Daciamanufacturer until then leader of the B segment in Europe, to conquer the C segment. Three years later, it was done with the advent of the Bigster. Bearer of Dacia’s new brand identity, in particular its new “Dacia link” logo and the Y-shaped light signature at the front and in the LED rear lights, it « responds more than ever to C-segment customer expectations dampened by inflation when they want to renew their car without giving up their search for comfort, performance and habitability » argues Denis Le Vot, general director of Dacia.

Promising to be financially affordable and intending to keep all the promises made by the Bigster Concept from which it draws its inspiration, namely a solid size on the road and an ability to accompany its owners in their professional, family or leisure activities, the Bigster is a worthy representative of the segment C-SUV – who counts Peugeot 3008, le Renault Symbiozthe Volkswagen Tiguan or the Toyota C-HR. This is evidenced by its massive, vertical front end and the horizontal, sculpted lines of its hood.

Dacia, future maker of (large) SUVs

Pointed out by a recent WWF/UFC study Que Choisir comme manufacturer participating in the “ SUV-isation » of the marketDacia prefers to demonstrate pragmatism by adapting its Bigster « to the tastes and habits of customers in the C-SUV segment ». In fact, the Bigster receives serial 17, 18 or 19 alloy wheels inches (the latter being optional on the top Journey finish). Its generous dimensions also ensure beautiful habitability focused on ergonomics (with three types of arrangements for the center console in the front seats: low, intermediate or, for the first time on a vehicle Daciaa high console incorporating an armrest and refrigerated compartment).

Equipped with numerous storage spaces and improved loading capacity thanks to a capacity trunk with among the largest volumes in its segment and a 40-20-40 bench seat allowing long objects to be transported with 4 people on board (without forgetting the possible integration of modular roof bars), the Bigster also hopes to crush the C-SUV competition with a computer equipment including a digital scoreboard of 7 or 10 inches (depending on finishes). To which is also added a 10.1-inch central touch screen, fitted as standard on all versions of this Bigster, which will be available with hybrid or electric engine.
