The end of the Paul Pogba rumor at OM
The end of the Paul Pogba rumor at OM

Very recently, rumors concerning negotiations between Paul Pogba and OM surfaced, but unfortunately, new information has cooled the matter.

The announcement of the return of Paul Pogba was received as a fresh breath in the world of football. The French midfielder could very soon set foot on the grounds again. Absent since September 2023, the “Pioche” is preparing its big return. However, this will not happen on the side of his current club, the Juventus. The player and the Italian club are currently in negotiations for a contract termination.

Paul Pogba will soon be free from any contract and can sign with any club. Among the rumors, the name that came up the most was that of Olympic. The Phocéens achieved a very big summer transfer window by recruiting players like Mason Greenwood, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and the “titi”, Adrien Rabiot. In addition, his former club and national teammate, Patrice Evra, would have encouraged Pogba to start discussions with the Phocaeans. The rumor was further inflamed when the journalist Malick Traoré affirmed that discussions were underway between the two parties. However, the situation quickly calmed down, when many other sources have denied these discussions, claiming that the rumor is unfounded.

Already the end of the Paul Pogba dream at OM?

This rumor had ignited many fans of Olympique de Marseille. Paul Pogba enjoys a very good reputation, notably thanks to his performances with the team. However, with the many sources that have tempered these ardors, it seems that there is, for the moment, nothing concrete concerning Paul Pogba at OM.

That said, that doesn’t mean it’s all over. Negotiations may not have started yet, but it is possible that they will begin in the coming days, weeks or months. Marseille can count on Mehdi Benatia, who knows Paul Pogba. Moreover, the Marseille project presents numerous arguments that could tip the scales in their favor.
