A stone in the censorship

The left did not expect much from this political game. So she was not disappointed. No crowds, no breath, no issues this October 8 in the Hemicycle. The leaders of the NFP hoped at best to regain the 206 votes which had gone to the communist André Chassaigne in July for the presidency of the National Assembly. There were only 197, or 5 more than the numbers of the four left-wing groups, but 92 less than the absolute majority necessary to overthrow the Barnier government.

It was therefore the 2nd important vote of this new National Assembly. And the second failure of the NFP, which by wanting to prove its legitimacy to govern, only demonstrates its numerical inferiority. The “democratic diversion” denounced by Olivier Faure was in fact contradicted by the deputies. It’s a shame for the left, which dreamed of the opposite demonstration but: one of the results of the day is that the Barnier government was formally validated by the National Assembly.

Tacit support from the National Rally

In any case a refusal, at this time, to vote for censorship. It was the best moment of the debate: the comic contortions of the RN deputy and ex-CNews columnist Guillaume Bigot, whose party affirmed on Sunday that he was the best opponent, and on Tuesday… that it was not the time to ‘oppose.
« Our group is burning to vote for censorship » said Bigot. But for now we do not censor because a single tweet from Marine Le Pen is enough to change the Prime Minister’s position on the deindexation of pensions. » End of a quote which left us perplexed because we barely heard any inflection. We can clearly see the common interest of the RN and the left in claiming that the ruling coalition is placed “under the supervision of the extreme right”. The RN to boast about it, the left to denounce it.

In reality everything fits together: the government is only in the hands of the RN if the NFP – or because the NFP – entirely plans to vote for censorship with the far right. In other words, the RN only holds its position as arbiter from the solidity of the left bloc. For example, it would be enough for the socialists to refuse systematic censorship in the future for the RN to lose its capacity to cause harm.

The left showed its unity

Some suggest this may be the last time, at least in this form. The LFI campaign on the Middle East, Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s call to display Palestinian flags everywhere, have only increased the unease.
Meanwhile, in real life, Justice is on the verge of losing 1/2 billion euros. Budget ” not satisfactory » for his minister Didier Migaud. Plane blows are deadly.

There, we are no longer in the political game.
