At champions Sturm Graz, coach Pepijn Lijnders’ team suffered a 0:5 (0:2) defeat in the Austrian Bundesliga on Sunday. On Tuesday, Salzburg lost 4-0 at home to Stade from in the Champions League, and lost 3-0 at Sparta Prague at the start of the premier class.

In Graz, Salzburg suffered their worst defeat in the Bundesliga since a 7-0 defeat against Rapid Vienna in 2008. “Where there is no luck, there is bad luck,” said the club’s statement about the game. Mika Biereth scored a hat-trick for the league leaders (30th/50th/62nd). “It wasn’t good enough in every facet of the game,” said offensive player Mads Bidstrup: “A lot went wrong.
