Nice Festival Cinéroman

“Sweet Days of Discipline” is an exhibition bringing together the 44 artists who graduated from Villa Arson in 2023. It is organized by the editors (Alice Dusapin, Martin Laborde and Baptiste Pinteaux) of the art magazine octopus notes.
“How did you feel a year after leaving school? How was your life? What do 44 artists who graduated barely a year ago have in common? » To help us answer these questions, we asked a few artists whose practices echoed those on display in the exhibition.

“Aquela Mar – This sea” – Maurice Maubert

Maurice Maubert is originally from Nice. He is a child of Old Nice, close to the Palais Lascaris. The Mediterranean occupies a special place in his artistic approach.
In this exhibition, the artist invites us to reconnect with our common heritage, which is the sea. “That Sea”the title of the exhibition, means “This sea” in Nice.
This exhibition is divided into three parts for in-depth artistic exploration.

Jean Mas in shadow and cube exhibition

L’Artistique returns with the restitution of the Ferrero Donation Collection and invites Jean Mas for a temporary exhibition.
In 1986, Jean Ferrero offered Jean Mas an exhibition entitled “The cubing of the School of Nice”, where he “cubed” different artists from the School of Nice. The following year, Jean Mas created 19 wooden cubes measuring 20x20x20 cm. The exhibition takes place, with the edition of a booklet limited to one hundred copies per Z’editionsand as is often the case, when Jean Ferrero was at the origin, he decided to keep all these pieces until integrating them into his donation to the city of Nice in 2014.

Exhibition – Jànluc Sauvaigo – The 36 views of Mont Bald
From 05/16 to 11/30/2024, every day.
Between 2004 and 2010, Jànluc Sauvaigo illustrated a series of sketches from “Nissan Popular History”, located on Mont Bald, thus giving birth to the 36 views of Mont Bald.
The first card is first inspired by the Japanese painter Hiroshige, then for the others, Jànluc Sauvaigo evokes Hokusai and his famous Thirty-six views of Mount Fuji. The author will say: “I wanted to celebrate a magical place in the country in my own way. And in Nice, Mont Chauve was obvious. It is visible from the Paillon and Var basins, almost everywhere. »

Exhibition – The fullness of emptiness – Bamboo art in Japan
